The Rising International Short Festival is celebrated in the City of Mumbai in India. This year it arrives at its Second edition, summoning the filmmakers to register their films to be screened and seen by more than seven thousand people, which was the participation of the last year.

The 2nd Rising International Short Film Festival, Mumbai, is a cinematographic meeting to watch and enjoy world films; In a space that seeks to incorporate the entire community, artists and the public in general, to experience different cultures through the language of film.

RISFF is designed to be an intimate and eloquent filmmaker festival where film enthusiasts can get first hand insights from directors, writers, actors and producers from the premiering films, a style which blends well with the beautiful city of Oxford.

In its first year all the films selected for RISFF came through registered submissions. This is a strict policy that the organizers will continue with for the 2nd festival.

The Rising International Short Film Festival 2019 took place from the 16th to 20th December in Mumbai. RISFF 2019 marked the 1st edition of the festival and screened a selection of films from wide array of genres across feature and short films, documentary films, animations, experimental films and music videos.

Our judges consist of filmmakers and industry professionals. We believe that having such a multicultural team behind our festival helps make our festival thrive amongst Independent Festivals. Our diverse judges give the opportunity to all filmmakers to have their films reviewed by them with such a wide knowledge in the art of filmmaking.

The objective of RISFF is to provide support to independent filmmakers globally through reviewing, judging, marketing, and distribution networking. RISFF accepts all genres of films across the globe. The selected high-quality films will have a chance to win awards such as trophies, certificates, gift cards and cash prizes starting from Rs. 3000 as well as have their films on the big screen at our live screening.
